Overview
A Rootstock Company Master can comprise of one or multiple Division Master records. Division controls exist at the level of inventory, cost, engineering, manufacturing, and some accounting parameters. Division Master settings along with any Inter-Division relationships are determined when Divisions are created.
During the configuration of the ERP, a Division Master record is created using a multi-step process. As an example, the Division Master record must be created before Manufacturing Subledger Accounts are created. Once the Manufacturing Subledger Accounts are created, they can then be set against the Division Master record.
Once a Division Master record is created, certain fields can be edited as required using the Edit function.
NOTE At least one Division must be created for a Company.
Application
The setting on the Division Master and Division Master Tabs provides functionality and data in support of activities available in a Division or transactions being entered in a Division.

Processing
Navigate to the list view of all existing Divisions. From here, the options include editing existing Division records, deleting unused Division records, or creating new Division Master records.
Header Section
Fields
Division Number: User-defined division number for this company division.
Description: Name or description of the Division associated with the division number entered in the field above.
Company: This field ties the Division to a Rootstock Company code.
Inventory Active: Select to indicate that Inventory is managed within this Division. The decision for Inventory Active is FINAL. Once the designation is made, it cannot be changed.
ECO Active: If selected, an ECO (ECO Master: Application and Terminology) must be initiated to manage and control the engineering change process. When ECO is active, Engineering Revisions are controlled through the ECO.
NOTE This setting can be checked/unchecked if there are no ECO Master records in that Division. The change cannot be made directly on the Division Master page but from a list view, flow, or apex code.
Engineering Revision Active: If selected, an Engineering Revision (Engineering Revisions) must be initiated to manage and control BOM and Routing definitions and configurations.
NOTE This field value can be changed only if any of the below conditions is satisfied:

When no BOM Master records exist for the Division.

If any BOM Master record exists for the Division, then the 'Add Revision' field value on the BOM Master record must be '000000'.
Engineering Revision Format: Select Numeric to have the system automatically assign revision numbers. Select Alpha-numeric if the revision number will be user-defined.
First Inventory Rev Number (Override): Set to an alphanumeric value up to 6 characters in length to be used as the “starting revision” for a given Item when Revision Controlled Inventory is active(set on System Configuration).
Initial Engineering Revision Status: Select the Revision Status representing the initial setting in the Revision Process.

Pending Status: Revision Status used as a reference only. No Impact on MRP.

Released Status: Revision Status used as a reference only. No impact on MRP.

Implemented Status: Used by MRP for planning and scheduling.
Cost Method: Choose between Standard Cost and Weighted Average Cost as the method for measuring costs within this Division. The decision for the Cost Method is FINAL. Once the selection is made, it cannot be changed.

Account Source: When using Weighted Average Costing, this field indicates if the Manufacturing Accounts used in posting come from Items or from the Item/Project designation.
