Overview
Independent Operations are generic labor steps that can be associated with a Configuration Selection Component within a Product Configurator Structure. Independent Operations can be specified on Configuration Selection Components with a Component Type 'Labor', which are selectable component options for Product Configurations within a Configuration Session. They are used to fetch source information when creating Operations on SO Lines as a result of Configuration Session export. These output Operations on SO Lines (AKA 'Configured Sales Order Labor') can be transmitted to Work Order when a configured SO Line is firmed. Independent Operations are initially linked to Configuration Selection Components which can then be potentially used on Work Orders for multiple parent items, whereas Routing Operations are created for a given Inventory Item Master under a Routing Master.
Application
Upon Configuration Session export, the operation details linked to the Configuration Selection Component will be added to the 'Configured Sales Order Labor' object, for eventual use as a Work Order Operation. This Operation can also have an associated set of materials and/or tasks.
