Overview

Inventory Item by Location provides a view of the locations where inventory is held. In addition to Stock Location ID and Stock Location Number, each Inventory record identifies several of the item’s attributes; Item Number, Site, Lot or Serial Numbers, Quantity, etc. If an Item resides in multiple locations, the list view will display the item multiple times.

Application

This function is used to view the inventory locations in which the item has or had on-hand inventory.

User-added image  IMPORTANT  The 'Allow Change to Serialized Inventory Loc' indicator on the System Configuration record controls the Inventory Location ID and Stock Location Number updates on the Inventory by Serial Number record. If it is checked, the Inventory Location ID and Stock Location Number can be changed without generating an Inventory Cost Transaction record. The Inventory Location ID on the Inventory by Serial Number record can be changed only when Inventory Location Type and Site are the same for the new and old Inventory Location IDs. When the Inventory Location ID on the Inventory by Serial Number record is changed, the following fields on the Inventory by Location record will be updated from the new Inventory Location ID record:

  • Backflush Indicator
  • Available for Picking Ind
  • Issue Sequence for Backflush
  • Receiving Inspection Indicator
  • Vendor Location Indicator
