User-added image  NOTE The Inventory Item defined under Inventory tab associated with the given Product should exist in those Divisions picked here, and these Inventory Items be grouped under the same Engineering Item Master. Else user will receive error:
YYY (Item under Product Master > Inventory tab) does not exist in Inventory Division XXX
User-added image  NOTE  This tab will only appear when Multiple Inventory Divisions is checked under the Inventory tab.

When a SO Line for one of these Products (that have Inventory Divisions) is added to the Sales Order and the Qty. Ordered entered, the user can choose Inventory Division from available ones on the Product Master > Inventory Division tab. When the SO Line is added, demands are added to the Inventory Division.

Below are some of the Type-specific guidelines for these Products;
  • Configured:  When the SO Line is saved, a check will be made to see if the chosen Inventory Division contains all the Inventory Items records for those components included in current effective BOM. If the selected division does not have all the currently effective Inventory Items specified on the BOM of the parent Item, upon saving the user will receive an error message:
Error while processing BOM. Cannot find Inventory Item in division XXX for Item YYY (component Item).
  • Kit:  Prior to adding the SO Line, Product Components should be defined. If the Product Master has multiple Inventory Division records, then when a new inventory-based Product Component is added, it will require that the specified Inventory Item Number is valid for all the Divisions listed in the Inventory Divisions tab. Else user will receive an error message:
The Item does not exist in the XXX Division
