Overview
This tab defines GEO Service parameters.
NOTE Information on the tab is entered when the Avalara Software is installed with Rootstock.
Fields
Avalara Version: The version number of Avalara used for geo services. (Value 1 will be obsolete soon)
Enable Avalara Address Validation: When checked, the Avalara Address Verification feature is activated.
Available Avalara Companies button: This button is accessible only in edit mode. Click this button to view all the active Company Codes fetched from Avalara. One of the codes can be copied & pasted into the 'Avalara Company Code' field. The default company code is highlighted in blue. This functionality is not supported in Avalara Version 1.
Avalara Company Code: This Avalara Company Code is optional when Avalara Version 1, and it is required when Avalara Version is 2 or more. The Avalara Company Code is required when reverse-transferring an invoice when Avalara Version 2 is set.
Avalara Account Number: This is the Avalara Account Number used to log into Avalara.
Avalara Software License Key: This is the Avalara Software License Key used to log into Avalara.
Freight Tax Code: The Avalara tax code to use for Freight charges.
Handling Tax Code: The Avalara tax code to use for handling charges.
Packaging Tax Code: The Avalara tax code to use for Packaging charges.
Call Avalara for Sales Order Line Credit: Enabling this field will cause the Avalara interface to be activated on Sales Order Line Credits (which would otherwise be bypassed).
Avalara Addr Validation–Use Country ISO: When doing Avalara Address Validations, use (and, as appropriate, update) the Country ISO Code field instead of the full Country field.
Enable Avalara Tax Calculation: When checked, the Avalara Tax Calculation feature is activated.
Avalara Development Mode: When checked, the debug mode for Avalara is enabled. API calls will be directed to Avalara Sandbox environments.
Auto-Fetch Order Line Tax: When checked, the tax on an Order Line will be fetched automatically when sufficient information is available. Otherwise, the tax lookup must be initiated by the user.
Test Avalara Connection button: This button is accessible only in edit mode. Clicking it will attempt connection to the Avalara environment, using the Avalara Account Number and Software License Key, and give feedback on the connection test output.
Avalara – Use General Delivery as Reqd.: This field enables a feature where the system will use a General Delivery address if the specified address is deemed invalid by Avalara during tax calls
NOTE If the flag 'Avalara – Use General Delivery as Reqd.' is checked and when Avalara fails to validate a Sales Order Line/Sales Order Invoice Line Address, the 'Address Line 1' is replaced with 'General Delivery', 'Address Line 2' and 'Address Line 3' will be left blank. And when fetching the tax, the system throws an error if the 'Zip/Postal Code' doesn't match the combination of city and state provided.
Exclude Lookup For Countries: Exclude the address or tax lookup for the selected countries.
Allow Override of Avalara Tax Amount: This setting allows for the manual override of the Sales Invoice Line Override Tax Amount value provided by Avalara on unapproved Sales Invoices.
