Sales Order Line - Product Search button

Overview

Key settings and usage of the pop-up that is displayed when the user presses the Product Search button, available on both the Sales Order Line page and the Line Items section on a Sales Order Header using the Normal SO Entry UI.

Application

This solution is specifically designed for environments with a heavy load of products and/or those that would like to only fetch Customer Products and/or fetch results using Product Number/Description specified on Customer Product record, for the Customer used as part of the Sales Order Header.

Processing

The button can only be used one a new Sales Order Line addition has been initialized.

• HV SO Entry
  1. If using HV SO Entry, it is possible to manually add SO Lines to an existing Sales Order (already saved), by clicking on New Sales Order Line button at the top of the Sales Order Lines related list. This will take the user to a new Sales Order Line page where he can specify the new SO Line details.
  2. Click Product Search button
• Normal SO Entry
  1. If using Normal SO Entry, it is possible to add lines while also a new SO Header is being created, or after it has been initially saved. Under the Line Items section, click Add. This will add a new row with all the different available input fields for the new SO Line.
  2. Click Product Search button

3. Enter string or strings to be looked up by the search engine, separated by spaces.
4. Decide whether the search should be limited for those Products that have a Customer Product record, by checking the Limit Search to Customer Products box.
5. Choose search criteria, whether the Rootstock Product or Customer Product, Number or Descriptions should be used for the search of the entered strings. Also possible to select All, which will include Rootstock Product Number/Description values for the string search, unless Limit Search to Customer Products is selected on step 6 below.
6. Select the option for how the strings should be handled during the search, using the selected search criteria. Available options are:
   • All must exist (AND): All of the strings need to be contained by the search criteria.
   • Any must exist (OR): Any of the strings will return results if there are matches with the search criteria.
   • Exact Phrase: The exact phrase and sorting of the strings need to be contained by the search criteria.
7. Click Search
8. This will display the search results on the lower section, and the values for Customer Product Number & Description, and Standard Product Number & Description.
9. To select a Product, click on any of the row elements for the desired product. This will carry the selection to the Sales Order Line. If the Product Master is set to have a Default Qty Ordered, this will also be fetched and the Price Discount Logic will directly fetch a Price and Discount for the SO Line.
