Overview

The Rootstock Quote / Order can be created from the Opportunity record by clicking on the Create Rootstock Quote / Order button (for Classic) or custom link (for Lightning).

    Processing

You can easily create a Quote in Rootstock from a Salesforce Opportunity.

    1. Click on the ‘Create Rootstock Quote / Order’ button (for Classic) or ‘Create Rootstock Quote / Order’ custom link (for lightning) to open a new Rootstock Sales Order page.

        NOTE
If Create Rootstock Quote / Order button is not available on the page layout, then edit the Page Layout for Opportunity object, and add it from the Buttons (for Classic) or the Custom Links (for Lightning) menus.

    2. Select the ‘New Quote/Order Header’ option, turn the ‘Rootstock Quote’ flag on, and click ‘Save’. The Rootstock Quote record has been created, as well as a Rootstock Quote Lines for each ‘Product’ on the Opportunity. The hyperlinked ‘Name’ value of the Salesforce ‘Quote Header’ record directs the user back to the Rootstock Quote record.

    3. To convert to a Sales Order at a later time, click the ‘Convert Quote to Order’ button on the Rootstock Quote. The ‘Quote Header’ record becomes a ‘Sales Order Header’ record as a result of the conversion.  The hyperlinked ‘Name’ value of the ‘Sales Order Header’ record directs the user back to the Rootstock Sales Order record.

NOTE  To create a new Rootstock Sales Order without creating a Quote, select the ‘New Quote/Order Header’, without selecting the 'Rootstock Quote' flag on the Rootstock 'New Sales Order’ screen. Click ‘Save’. As a result, a Rootstock Sales Order record is created, as well as Sales Order Lines for each Product on the Opportunity.

When creating either an Rootstock Sales Order or an RS Quote from Salesforce Quote/Opportunity, the product line selection will default to true for all the products under that opportunities. The SO Line Scheduled Shipped Date and Due Date will be calculated using the current logic for SO Lines added directly to a SO Header or though SOAPI. If the user leaves the Due Date blank/empty on the conversion page, once the RS Sales Order is saved, the Due date will be calculated based on the Product and Customer lead times, starting from the day the order is set, and adding lead times from both sources in order to calculate the Due Date.

If the user chooses to override this value and enter a new Due Date, the related Dates for the SO Line will be rearranged accordingly. the Scheduled Date will equal the Due Date minus the Customer Lead Time (Set on Customer Master record). The Required Date (value that will drive MRP) will equal the Scheduled Date minus the sum of the Product Lead Times (set on Product Master record).

If the Product added to the Salesforce Opportunity/Quote have a Date defined, this will be used as the Due Date for the SO Line once it is converted to a Rootstock Quote/Sales Order Line.
