Overview
Units of measure define the quantities of material and finished goods that are used in the company divisions. The Unit of Measure (UOM) Master provides the means to document those various options.
Application
Units of measure are used throughout Rootstock objects. These include Engineering, Inventory, Purchasing and Sales. The Unit of Measure table is a Company-wide table, so all divisions will use the same units of measure

Processing
Navigate to the List View of all existing Units of Measure.
The user may edit existing Unit of Measure Master records, or, by clicking ‘New Unit of Measure’, create a new UOM Master record
Fields
UOM Code: User-defined unique identifier for this Unit of Measure. For example, EA could be the UOM Code for ‘Each’.
Service Type: If this Unit of Measure will be used for Service-type items, choose from the drop-down the specific billing amount to be used. F/E, is this service going to be billed by an Hourly Rate, Daily Rate or a flat Dollar Amount?
Description: A user-defined description of this Unit of Measure.
Unit of Measure for Recurring Billing ProductsThere is a special case in Rootstock where the Unit of Measure description must be exact. When setting up a Recurring Billing Product Group/Product, the Unit of Measure used where the Product Type = Recurring Product, the Unit of Measure description must equal "Monthly", "Quarterly", "Semi-Annual" or "Annual".
