Change Work Order Status

« Go Back
Article

Overview

The Status field signifies the current status of this Work Order. The system (not the User) automatically changes the Work Order status.

Application

Change status values are as follows:

Status 1 - This is the Planned status. When Material Requirements Planning creates Work Orders, it is in planned status.

Status 2 - This is the Firm status. This will also allow the Material Planner to extract the routing.

Status 3 - This is the Allocation Attempted status. When 'Allocation Active' is true on the Division Master record, a button to 'Allocate' will be visible on the Work Order. When this button is pressed, an attempt is made to allocate all components. Once the Allocate button is pressed, the status is updated to 3, whether or not all components were successfully allocated. If all components were successfully allocated, the 'Fully Allocated' checkbox is set to True (checked).

NOTE image.png  NOTE  When the flag 'Allocation Active' on the Division Master record is not true, the Allocate button will not be visible on the UI. So, the user can manually update the status from '2-Firm' to '4-Ready for activity'.

Status 4 - This is Ready for activity. When the User clicks the Allocate button, the system (not the User) will automatically change the Work Order status to ‘4’.

Status 5 - When the picklist records are generated, the system (not the User) will automatically change the Work Order status to ‘5’.

Status 7 - Partial Receipt. Receiving anything less than the total Work Order quantity will automatically change the Work Order status to ‘7'.

Status 8 - When the quantity is fully received into inventory, the system (not the User) will automatically change the Work Order status to '8'.

Status 9 - Closed status. When the Work Order reaches status ‘8’, a new button appears in the Work Order header called Close Work Order. Performing this function computes the variances, if any, and stops any further activity on this order.
