Overview
This document describes the current Inspection Order integration between Rootstock and Compliance Quest.
The current integration functionality between Rootstock and Compliance Quest exists to manage inspection of materials at these four points:
- Purchase Order Receiving Inspection.
- Materials received from Return Materials Authorization (RMA).
- In Process Work Order Inspections.
- Inspection Orders created from Inventory records.
Rootstock Inspection Order template can be created and assigned to Purchase Item Masters, Products, Work Order Operations, or assigned directly to existing inventory records to create Rootsock Inspection Orders.
The Rootstock Inspection Order created at these points will automatically create a record in the related Compliance Quest Inspection Object.
The disposition of the Compliance Quest Inspection will update the status of the Rootstock Inspection Order through the interface.
The completion of the Compliance Quest Inspection will complete the Rootstock Inspection order through the interface, and the materials inspected will be released for use or quarantined as appropriate for the disposition received,
Integration Set up
- The Compliance Quest Application must be installed in the same org as Rootstock ERP. Check this through 'Setup >Installed Package'.
- A Rootstock Inspection Order Template (Inventory Management > Inspection Order Template) must be set up to facilitate the creation of the Rootstock Inspection Orders.
- For Purchase Order Receiving Inspections, the Inspection Template can be assigned on the Purchase Item Master to require inspections as a default when processing purchase Order Receiving.
- For Work Order In Process Inspection, the Inspection Order Template can be assigned to the Routing Operation 'Options' tab.
- Return Materials Inspection can be assigned to the Product on the 'RMA' Tab.
- The assignment of the Inspection Order Templates will facilitate the reference of the Inspection Order Template on the associated document - Purchase Order, RMA or Work Order Operation. The Inspection order template can be over-ridden if desired on the document itself. The Purchase Order Line Inspection Template referenced on the Purchase Order Line 'Details' in Receiving/Inventory Tab.
- This set up will facilitate the creation of the Rootstock Inspection Order upon receipt of the Purchase order. This complete the setup in Rootstock for Purchase Order Receiving. In addition to this effort, there is set up required in Compliance Quest that must be completed to enable the interface to work properly.
NOTE This article does not address the specifics of this set up. Please coordinate with the Compliance Quest representative associated with the Account to ensure the same item and inspection is properly enabled in Compliance Quest.
Execution of the Interface
- Process the Purchase Order Receipt.
- Navigate to 'Inventory Management >> Inspection Orders' an Inspection Order should have been created which references your source document (see “Origination” tab on the Inspection Order).
- The Integration will create a Compliance Quest Inspection with an 'External Reference' to the Rootstock Inspection Order.
- The Compliance Quest Inspection can be processed and dispositioned.
NOTE The details of this process are not addressed in this article. Please contact your Compliance Quest representative to understand the details and options available to process the Compliance Quest inspection.
- Once the Compliance Quest Inspection is initiated, the status of the Rootstock Inspection Changes to 'In Process'.
- Upon completion of the Compliance Quest Inspection, the Rootstock Inspection order status will change to 'Dispositioned'. All materials that were passed in inspection will now be available for use.
NOTE This interface update from Compliance Quest to the Rootstock Inspection Order does not occur instantaneously. You can monitor the status by finding the associated SYDATA Record.
- Work Order In Process and RMA Inspections follow a similar path through the interface. The Rootstock Inspection Order will be 'dispositioned', and the materials will be 'released' once the Compliance Quest Inspection is completed. No manual intervention will be required on the Rootstock Inspection Order.
