Article

Overview

Within a Configuration Session structure, there may be components that are dependent on two Configuration Selections in order to be selected by default. To accomplish this, the Configuration  Component can be set up with 'Second Configuration Group' and 'Second Selection', and if marked as 'Selected by Default'

Processing

Primary Selection:  A (Contains component X)

Secondary Selection:  B (is referenced by Component X)

  • Processing Case 1

  1. Select Selection A on a Configuration Session

    • Component X is available but, although set to ‘selected by default’ and belonging to Selection A, is not auto selected. It can be manually added by the user.

  2. Select Selection B on a Configuration Session

    • Component X is auto-selected (and therefore saved as a Session Component)

  • Processing Case 2

  1. Select Selection B on a Configuration Session

    • Component X is not available, because Selection A is not selected yet

  2. Select Selection A on a Configuration Session

    • Component X is available and selected (and therefore saved as a Session Component)

As a summary, this functionality is used for those components marked as ‘Selected by Default’, but for which that ‘Default’ selection is controlled by two selections.

  • When A + B Configuration Selections are selected, irrespective of the order, the Configuration Component is selected and added to the session.
