Overview
Freight Calculations is a mechanism for calculating SO Line Freight Amounts to populate based on where shipment is made from, where the shipment is being shipped to and the method of shipment used.
Options are to calculate on a “per pound” bases or by ranges of weights.Setup
Shipping Zone
Sales Order Setup > Shipping Zone
Action: Create required Shipping Zones
Shipping Methods
Sales Order Setup > Shipping Methods
Action: Create required Shipping Methods
Rootstock Product (per/unit Weight)
Sales Order Setup > Products > Product Attribute tab
Action: Set ‘Weight’ field to be the per/unit weight of the given Product

Description: User-defined description of this Freight Calculations record, up to 50 characters in length
Origination Shipping Zone: When a SO Line's Address of Origination (Division Address) has Shipping Zone set that matches this Origination Shipping Zone, and where the SO Line Shipping Zone matches the Destination Shipping Zone, Freight Calculations values from this record are used.
Destination Shipping Zone: When a SO Line has the Shipping Zone set that matches this Destination Shipping Zone, and where the Address of Origination matches the Origination Shipping Zone, Freight Calculations values from this record are used.
Ship Method: When the Origination Shipping Zone or Destination Shipping Zone match and the Ship Via matches that on the SO Line, the values from this record are used.
Calculation Method: The method used for determining how the freight charge calculation is derived. Options are 'Price per Pound', which then requires 'Price per Pound' field to be populated, or 'Price by Weight Range', requiring weight range records to be established.
Price per Pound: When the 'Calculation Method' is 'Price per Pound', this is the price per pound value that will be used to calculate the freight charge, extended by the 'Extended Product Weight' set on the SO Line (which is the Product's "unit" weight times the line qty).

From Weight: The starting value for the given weight range
To Weight: The ending value for the given weight range
Freight Charge: The freight charge when the extended weight (unit weight times SO Line quantity) falls within the given weight range
