This tab defines engineering item attribute details

Inventory Commodity Code > Engineering Tab


Fields
Eng Status: The default Engineering Status for an item assigned this Commodity Code when added. Valid values are ‘Pending’, for which no Inventory or Purchasing Item Master are created and therefore no inventory activity can occur, or ‘Active’ where the item can then be used in inventory.

Eng Type: The default Eng Type attributed to the Eng Item when assigned this Commodity Code. Valid values are ‘Phantom’ = Item that isn't manufactured or inventoried, 'Reference’ = Called out on BOM but not stocked and ‘Standard’ = Planned and carried in inventory.

Inventory Source:  Indicates the source of the item in the given Division. Selections are Manufactured (made in-house), Purchased (obtained from a Vendor) or Subcontract (produced by a Vendor using Items supplied from in-house inventory).


Resp Engineering: The Engineer responsible (from an Engineering standpoint) for Items associated with the given Commodity Code

Eng UOM: The Unit of Measure that is defaulted on the Engineering Item Master when it is associated with the given Commodity Code.  The Unit of Measure can be overridden at the Engineering Item Master level if desired.

Serial Tracking: When set to ‘Yes’, indicates whether Items assigned this Commodity Code will be Serial Controlled in inventory. This field is the default but can be overridden on the Engineering Item Master.

Lot Tracking: When set to ‘Yes’, indicates whether Items assigned this Commodity Code will be Lot Controlled in inventory. This field is the default but can be overridden on the Engineering Item Master.
