Overview
Auto-Project provides the ability to create Projects in the SO Entry process that is specific to the Sales Order or Sales Order Lines. See below for the various options this function provides.
Fields
Auto Create Project for Each SO Line: When checked, a Project Master will be auto-created for each Sales Order Line added. If the Inv Division for Auto Project setting differs, it will add a Project Master in that Division as well.
Auto Create Project for Each SO Header: When Checked, a Project Master will be auto-created & set as the Sales Order Header Default Project for the Inventory Division of the first Sales Order Line added. If the Inv Division for Auto Project setting differs, it will add a Project Master in that Division as well.
Initialize All Lines To Header Project: When Checked, the Project field for each Sales Order Line will be set to the Default Project set on the Sales Order Header.
All Lines Must Use Header Project: When Checked, all Sales Order Lines must use the Default Project specified on the Sales Order Header.
Complete Projects at Final Shipment: When Checked, if (1) all existing Sales Order Lines are fulfilled and (2) all Purchase Order Lines (if any) associated with the Sales Order Lines are closed, then the 'Project Completed' checkbox will be set on the Project Master, effectively closing that Project.
Get Dimension Value for Auto Projects: When checked, when Auto-Project is active, Dimensions will be set on the Project auto created.
Auto Created Project Number Method: When Auto Create Projects is enabled, this delineates the method by which the Project number is defined. Options are:
NOTE If Auto Numbering is used and the Project Number already exists, the SO Number will be used.
Project Number Prefix: When Auto Created Project Number Method is set to ‘Auto Number with Prefix’, this is where the prefix is defined.
NOTE No special characters are automatically added, so if, for instance, a dash is desired to follow the prefix, include the dash in the value entered.
Inventory Division for Auto Projects: Being that this control record is for the Sales Division, you may want Projects added to the Inventory Division from which product will ship. The Inventory Division should be defined here, even if the same as the Sales Division when using Auto Project.
Next Project Number: This field controls the numbering of Projects when 'Auto Create Project for Each Sales Order Header' is Checked (see Sales Order Control header). If enabled, it must be an integer value greater than zero (defaults to 1).
