Dimensions Tab
From this tab, the user can assign Accounting Dimensions to the Sales Order Line, while the Sales Order Line is not yet picked. It is also possible to change the dimensions on Sales Order Header Special Tab.
Each Dimension value from 1 to 8 will have its Dimension Source defined on the Company Master. Upon creating a new Sales Order Line, Dimension values are auto-assigned from those Dimension Sources. The user can manually change the Dimension values without changing the Dimension Source entity. If the Dimension Source entity is changed, the system will override the user's manually changed Dimension values.
EXAMPLE If the 'Dimension4 Source' value on the Company Master is set as 'Project', then the system will set the 'Dimension 4' value on the Sales Order Line to 'Accounting Dimension Value' on the Sales Order Line's Project. The user can manually change the Dimension 4 value on the Sales Order Line without changing the Sales Order Line's Project. If the Project on the Sales Order Line is changed then the system will override the user's manually changed Dimension 4 value to Accounting Dimension Value' on the Sales Order Line's new Project.
It is possible to mass update dimensions for multiple Sales Order Lines at a time using the Global Line Update button on Sales Order Header Special Tab.
NOTE The Sales Order Line project and the Sales Order Line Issue Project (specified on the Sales Order Line Component Button > Sales Order Demand tab) could be different and have different dimensions. When performing the SO Fulfillment 'pick' step, the dimension difference will be carried over to the Journal credit & debit details, from the resulting SO Issue and SO Issue Reversal Cost Transaction.
Save Changes
If on Normal SO Entry UI, once satisfied with changes for this and/or other tabs, click OK on the Sales Order Line pop-up window (which will return the view to the Sales Order Header), and click Save on the Sales Order Header to apply values/updates.
If on High Volume SO Entry UI, and/or directly on Sales Order Line view, simply click Save to apply values/updates.
