Overview
Sales Order Reason Codes are assigned at various points in the Sales Order process. And are required, for example, when an order is canceled.
Application
This function provides the capability to define Division-specific reason codes that are selected on Sales Orders and RMA’s. The use of reason codes provides a basis for additional analysis of Sales Order related activities.
Reason Codes can be applied to the below records:
Sales Order
RMA - Return Material Authorization

RMA Header: Added optionally to field Reason for Return.

RMA Detail: Added optionally to field Reason for Return.

Processing

To add a new record, click the 'New' button.

To edit an existing record, in the row of the record to edit, from the dropdown select:
Edit: Edit the record. Reason Code field is not editable after the record has been initially saved.
Delete: Delete the record. If the record is referenced on other records it may not be deleted.
Change Owner: Change owner of the record to a different Manufacturing User.

To view select the Name in the Name column of the row to view.

To Save a new record or updates to an existing one, click Save.
Fields
Division: This is the Division in which this SO Reason code has been created.
Reason Code: A unique identifier for the reason code.
Description: This is the detailed description of the Sales Order Reason Code.
Use for RMA Returns: When checked, indicates that this Reason Code can be used on a Return Material Authorization (RMA) Receipt.
RMA Adjustment Account: (Optional) Adjustment Sub-Ledger Account associated with this Reason. (See Sub-Ledger Accounts ).
