Locate the ‘Opportunities’ object on the ‘All Tabs’ menu. From ‘Opportunities Home’, a new Opportunity can be created or an existing one can be accessed through a ‘View’.
Fill in the appropriate details on the ‘New Opportunity’ fields and click 'Save'.
Scroll down on the newly created Opportunity and click the ‘Add Product’ button. Then, select the Price Book for this Opportunity.
NOTE Ensure that the 'Sync Item and Product Descriptions' flag is turned on from the ‘SYDEFAULT’ object in Rootstock so that Product Descriptions are updated in Salesforce when manipulated from the Rootstock side.
Once a Price Book record has been selected on the Opportunity, Products can be added. The List Price value from the ‘Price Book’ record has been auto-populated on the ‘Sales Price’ field of the ‘Add Products to’ screen. This ‘Sales Price’ value can be changed as the field is editable. The ‘Quantity’ is a required input, while the ‘Date’ and ‘Line Description’ are optional. Now the Product detail has been saved to the Salesforce Opportunity. The hyperlink under the ‘Product’ column will direct the user to the Salesforce ‘Opportunity Product’ record.
NOTE
Salesforce Products for Freight, Packaging, Handling, Prepayments, and A/R Clearing can be indicated on the Rootstock SO Control Object (once the Products have been created).
Rootstock Pricing logic will not apply to Products added to the Salesforce Opportunity. For details of the Rootstock Price Discount logic see Sales Order Price Discount Logic - Overview.
