Service Components (Recurring Charges)

Overview

Service Components as part of a Recurring Charge allow for the Recurring Charge to detail Services provided as part of the charge. An example of this setup might be:

  • Recurring Charge:  Monthly Maintenance Fee @ $150.00 (This is the total charge based on the rolled up pricing of the Service Components and is what will appear on the Recurring Billing Sales Invoice)
    • Service Component:  Break/Fix @ $100.00
    • Service Component:  Parts @ $50.00

  • The Product Master (Product Components tab) of the Recurring Charge product can be used to define the Service Items and how the pricing is managed on the Recurring Charge using the Price From Components (Kit and Config setting on the Recurring Charge Product Master record. If Service Items are defined as Product Components on the Recurring Charge Product Master record, they will automatically populate as Service Items when adding the Recurring Charge to the Sales Contract.
  • Service Items can also be defined manually on the Recurring Charge as required.
User-added image  IMPORTANT  Service Components (Service Items) may have different Sales Accounts to the Recurring Charge. Revenue associated with the Service Components will be directed to the Sales Account as setup on the Service Item record and not the Recurring Charge therefore allowing for detailed revenue breakdown per Recurring Charge.
 
Application

To be used to when wanting to detail Services (Service Items) that are associated to the Recurring Charge and or when wanting to assign different Sales Accounts to the revenue generated in the Recurring Charge.

Prerequisites

Service Items Setup (refer to the Service Items documentation)
Recurring Charge Product Master Setup - for Service Item assignment as Product Components on the Recurring Charge and pricing rollup of Product Components to the Recurring Charge (refer to the Adding Service Items to Recurring Services Products documentation)


Navigation

Sales Contracts Maintenance > Contract Recurring Charges (not in Edit mode)

Processing
  1. Within an already defined Recurring Charge record (not in Edit mode), click on the Edit Service Components button.
  2. Review/amend existing records as populated by the Recurring Charge Product Master record or add records as required and click Save.
Fields

Service Component:  A valid Service Item representing a service provided under the given Contract.

Periodic Price:  The price per period for the given Service Component.

Sales Account:  When set, the Periodic Price of for the given Service Component will be debited to this Sales (revenue) Account when Periodic Billing is run and the corresponding Invoice is generated.

Early Termination Fee is 100%:  When checked, early termination results in being charged the full amount for the given Service period.
