Warranty Tracking

« Go Back
Article
A Warranty is a written guarantee, issued to the customer, promising to repair or replace the item they purchased, if that item is returned for reasons and within terms defined in the Warranty Contract.

In Rootstock, Warranties can be defined for any serialized Products and/or Product Components aka Shipped Item Warranty. These Warranties are tracked using Warranty Types which are records where warranty durations and expiration dates are defined at the Sales Order Control, Product Group or Product Master level.

Refer to the Warranty Management for an overview of the Warranty functionality within Rootstock.

Pre-requisites to enable Warranty Tracking
  1. Warranty Type Setup: refer to the Warranty Types article.
  2. Shipped Item Warranty: refer to the Shipped Item Warranty article.
