Warranty Types

Warranty Types are the foundation of the Warranty Tracking functionality in Rootstock as they define the following elements that get assigned to a shipped serialized product aka Shipped Item Warranty.
  • Warranty Type ID:  Unique ID with a maximum of 20 characters.
  • Description:  Description of the Warranty Type with a maximum of 50 characters.
  • Duration:  The Duration (length of time) for this Warranty Type.
  • Duration UOM:  The Duration Unit of Measure for this Warranty Type. Valid values are Days, Weeks, Months or Years.
  • Repairable:  When checked, indicates that this is Warranty Type is one for which a repair can be performed.
Once created, Warranty Types can be assigned to the Sales Order Control (Warranty & RMA Tab), Product Group (Order Processing Tab) or Product Master (Order Processing Tab) records. When assigned to the Sales Order Control and Product Groups as a default Warranty Type, the Shipped Item Warranty created will inherit either the SO Control or Product Master (via Product Group) default.

Processing
  1. Click New Warranty Types to create a new record or click Edit to amend an existing record.
  2. Complete all fields and Save.
