Work Order Purge

« Go Back
Article

Overview

Work Order Purge is an optional process to delete Work Order Master, and all pertinent subordinate records, prior to a user specified cutoff date. It also provides an option to 'archive' Work Order subordinate records into large text fields on the Work Order Header (WOCST) record, and then purge those subordinate records (the Archived Work Orders process). Subordinate records that have previously been archived can also be restored through an option on the Work Order Header record.

Application

Periodic use, as needed, to reduce data storage requirements in your Salesforce Org, using parameters as noted below.

Purge Work Orders

Fields

Division:  The division from which selected data will be purged. This is the current division of the user, and can be changed via the Quick Menu tab, or the Current tab on the Manufacturing User record of the user.

Cutoff Date:  This is required and is compared to the 'Actual Close Date' of Work Order Header records. Any Work Orders closed on or before this date are purge candidates.

User-added image NOTE  Cutoff Date must be less than or equal to TODAY.

Purge Archived Work Orders:  Only when checked will the system purge qualifying archived Work Orders, as well as any other qualifying Work Order (not flagged as archived).

"Purge Work Orders" Button:  Click on the "Purge Work Orders" button to purge all closed Work Order records and all subordinate data records based on the Cutoff date.

The following records will be purged as part of the purge operation

  • Work Order

  • Work Order Operation

  • Work Order Component

  • Requirements

  • Pick List

  • Disassembly Derived Component

  • Labor Order

  • WO Operation Schedule Date

  • Work Order Component Serial

  • Work Order Serial Master

User-added image  NOTE  If any Device History Header records exist for this division, and the parent or at least one component is serialized, then the Work Order, Work Order Component Serial, and Work Order Serial Master records will not be purged. Otherwise, Work Order Operation and Work Order Component records will not be purged.

"Archive Work Orders" Button:  Click on the "Archive Work Orders" button to archive closed Work Order records and all subordinate data based on the Cutoff date. When the archive option is selected, the subordinate date noted above is 'archived' into large text fields on the Work Order Header record. It is then 'purged', allowing restoring the archived data.
