Overview
Describe the relationship between selected Configuration Selection Components during the Configuration Session, and those components that are created on Sales Order Line, as output of the Export of the Configuration Session.
Application
Sales Order Lines for a Product with Product Type Configured generate Work Orders upon Sales Order Line firm. The Product Configurator can feed the material and labor information into the Sales Order Line, from which the Work Order is going to be created. This will use the Sales Order Line Components to create Work Order Components, Work Order Operations, and Work Order Non-Inventory Components.
For more details see Sales Order Line Components.
Exported Sales Order Lines Components from Session Components can be of type:
-
Configured Sales Order Material (which may trigger the creation of Work Order Component, if the firmed Sales Order Line is for a Product with a Product Type Configured, or is set as Configured this Time)
-
Configured Sales Order Labor (which may trigger the creation of Work Order Operations, if the firmed Sales Order Line is for a Product Type Configured, or is set as Configured this Time)
-
Non-Inventory Component ((which may trigger the creation of Work Order Component, if the firmed Sales Order Line is for a Product Type Configured, or is set as Configured this Time)
NOTE Based on the Sales Order Line Product Type, only certain types of Sales Order Line Components are valid. So, even if more are attempted to be exported, they may not be used on the Sales Order Line.
All of these Sales Order Line Components are grouped under the same Sales Order Line, which is created for the Configuration Session's 'Configuration Product'. If there are selected Configuration Selection Components that are set to Output to Individual Line (only available for Components created with Product entities), upon Configuration Session export, an extra Sales Order Lines is created for each of them. Note that these may also have Sales Order Line Components of their own, based on the setup of the entity Product to be exported. For details see Exporting Configuration Session To Sales Order.
