Overview
When an item being manufactured is Lot Controlled, Serial Controlled or both, this information is required on the Work Order. This provides a permanent record of the actual material issued to a Work Order, including Lot Controlled Items, and Serial Controlled Items.

Fields
Lot Number: When the Parent Item on the Work Order is Lot Controlled, this field is required prior to Work Order Receipt. This is the user-assigned Lot Number for the item being manufactured on the Work Order. It is populated to the Work Order Receipt Transaction.
Number Date: This is the date when the Lot Number was assigned to the Work Order.
Lot Expiration Date: This is the Expiration Date of the Lot Number assigned to the Work Order. If this field is not set by the User, when the Work Order is received, the Expiration Date will be calculated as the Receipt Date plus the Shelf Life (in days) on the Parent Item's Inventory Item Master.

Select the Generate Serials button (Work Order Header) to generate the serial numbers(s) records for the quantity of the item being manufactured on the Work Order.

Fields
Serial Number: Enter the serial number or numbers of the item being produced on this Work Order.Assign Date: This defines the date the serial number was assigned. This field is set whenever the serial number is updated.
NOTE This field is not maintained by the User.
Qty Accepted: This value defines the Quantity Accepted. The default value is zero. This field is updated when a Work Order Receipt Transaction is processed.
Qty Scrapped: The Quantity Scrapped. NOTE This field is not maintained by the User.
Component Links: This links the issued serialized component’s serial number issued to the serial number of the item manufactured on the Work Order. The record is updated by the User. This also links issued lot controlled items lot number to a serial number of an item manufactured on the Work Order.
