Overview

Rootstock is integrated with the ZenKraft Shipping App for Salesforce, allowing users to seamlessly create ZenKraft shipments directly from a Rootstock Shipper. Using ZenKraft’s Shipmate for FedEx, Shipmate for UPS and Shipmate for USPS, shipments can be processed directly from Rootstock, with ZenKraft writing tracking information and freight charges back to Rootstock Shippers.

ZenKraft has their own documentation regarding the use of their product and the managing of shipments once they are passed to ZenKraft. Please refer to said documentation for information and troubleshooting of issues within the ZenKraft domain.

Conditions

  • ZenKraft supports FedEx, UPS and USPS. Domestic shipments only are supported by ZenKraft using ZenKraft APIs to automate the shipment process. International shipments may still be processed by creating shipments manually from the RS Shipper.(See: Zenkraft Manual Shipments).

  • Carrier size limits, units of measure (e.g., inches vs feet) and weight restrictions by Service Type must be conformed to when setting up relevant data in Rootstock. Rootstock does not “force” these, as restrictions vary by Carrier (and wouldn’t be applicable when not using ZenKraft).

  • Rootstock strips off Postal Code characters that exceed characters as some carriers (and USPS in particular) require a 5-digit Postal Code. Likewise, Rootstock strips off extraneous characters in a phone number so that strictly numeric characters are passed, again due to Carrier requirements.

  • USPS only supports one container (known as a “package”) per RS Shipper, whereas FedEx and UPS support multiples.

Terminology

Official Carrier:  A Carrier identified as an “official” FedEx, UPS or USPS for use with ZenKraft.

Service Type:  This is akin to what is referred to in Rootstock as Shipping Method – it is a service such as “ground”, “air”, “next day air”, “2-day air”, and so on.

Tare Weight:  The weight of the packaging for a given product; also used for the weight of a “container”.

SO Shipper:  Rootstock record created when a Sales Order is picked and packed (or shipped, if using Consolidated Fulfillment). Containers are created from here as well as the function to create ZenKraft shipments.

Container (aka Container Type):  Represents the type of container that shipments are placed in, such as “box”, “crate”, “pallet” and so on.

Value of Container:  “Declared value” of Container contents, which is passed to ZenKraft when shipments are processed.

Shipment Preferences:  Basic preferences that need to be established for each ZenKraft carrier prior to utilizing ZenKraft.

Sender:  The entity making a shipment.

Address of Origination (aka Primary Shipping Address in Rootstock):  The Sender’s address from which shipments are made.

Recipient:  The entity receiving a shipment.
