Overview
The following setup steps are required in order to be able to add Work Orders, assuming Engineering Item Master, Engineering BOM Master and Inventory Item Master records exist for the items to be manufactured.Manufacturing User Number (Manufacturing User)
Navigation
Manufacturing User
The Manufacturing User Number (Manufacturing User) Record defines each Manufacturing User’s capabilities and cost indicators when reporting labor and quantities complete during the Work Order Booking activity. Each person who reports labor and/or quantities to Work Orders must have a Manufacturing User Number Record.
Division Master
Navigation
Division Master
The Division Master Record on the Shop Floor Control Tab contains settings that turn on or off various Work Order options.
The indicators are:
- Reset Work Order Release Date After Operation Extract: When checked, when operations are extracted to a Work Order, the Work Order Release Date will be reset.
- Allow Qty Comp per Qty Req vs Qty Avail: When checked, this allows a Quantity Booking on each operation regardless of prior operation completions, with the exception of the last operation. When unchecked, Quantity Bookings must be reported in the operation sequence. Quantity available is the Work Order quantity minus completions.
- Schedule Remaining Using Hours vs Qty: When checked, Scheduling will use the labor/machine hours remaining on an operation to be the "total scheduled time" less labor/machine hours booked. If hours booked exceeds the total scheduled time, the time remaining will be considered as zero (0).
Manufacturing Department
Navigation
Manufacturing Department
A Labor Overhead Rate and a Fringe Overhead Rate can be defined for each department. These rates reflect an extra cost that you may need to factor into a Labor Rate. Labor and Fringe Overhead Rates are defined as a factor applied to the associated labor. If the options described above apply to the entire manufacturing area and do not change depending on where the manufacturing process is taking place, one Manufacturing Department may be all that is required.
